Charles Walpole Hope Dean was born on 14 October 1920 at Battery Point, Tasmania to Angus Robert Rowan Dean and Muriel (nee Hope).
He joined the Royal Australian Navy on 30 July 1938 for a term of twelve years but died from Broncho Pneumonia on 5 September 1938 and is buried at HMAS Cerberus in Victoria.
We honour him although he did not live long enough to serve his country in time of war.
