Ted and Betty Burmester

Wedding at Geraldton.- At Christ Church, Geraldton, on Wednesday evening, the marriage was celebrated between Miss Catherine Elizabeth Christie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Christie, of Geraldton, and Private Edmund Field Burmester, youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Burmester of Geraldton. The Rev. K. B. Halley officiated. The bride,, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a frock of all white, with chic white hat. The frock was cut with scalloped neck line and puff sleeves, whilst the skirt was cut on full circular lines. She carried a hand bag of white embroidered leather and wore white gloves. She was attended by her sister (Miss Freda Christie) as bridesmaid. The latter wore a dress of navy and white silk sheer, with large white fancy chip straw hat and white gloves, and carried a handsome bag of navy embossed leather. Private W. Dawson, of the A.I.F., a colleague of the bridegroom, acted as best man. The ceremony, which was conducted with military honours, was concluded with the singing of the National Anthem. After the signing of the register the bride and bridegroom left the church between a guard of honour of members of the Second A.I.F., the Militia, and Boy Scouts. A reception of near friends and relatives was held at the home of the bride’s parents, the usual toasts being honoured.
